Phonemic Awareness Infusion

Clearly Said, Clearly Read is a project funded by an English Literacy and Civics Education Florida DOE State Leadership Grant 2003-2005.

Clearly Said, Clearly Read

Project Clearly Said, Clearly Read focuses primarily on meeting the needs of the practitioner and student by providing linguistic background, strategies and training via an instructor pronunciation lesson and a student application lesson for LCP C level lessons of the Florida ESOL Frameworks curriculum. Carefully coordinated lesson plans assist accurate production instruction and phonemic understanding, resulting in an increase in student ability to learn to read, pronounce and spell. Each instructor presentation handout lists the LCP competencies addressed; the content and language objectives; student goal; procedures to present and teach sound production; and application practice through a reading infusion handout. Phonemic awareness infusion is presented through 25 lesson plans designed specifically to incorporate the LCP competencies in pronunciation, grammar and reading.

Clearly Said, Clearly Read - Part II

The purpose of Clearly Said, Clearly Read - Part II is to bring the experience and application of a phonemic lab to those ESOL settings without language labs. This portion of the grant identifies and categorizes phonology sites that facilitate an introduction to phonemic awareness skills and reinforces them. By accessing Web sites through Links to PA, practitioners can significantly enhance their instruction. This method of application, via easy access of the Internet, is practical, inexpensive and effective. Clearly Said, Clearly Read - Part II reinforces the 25 phonemic awareness lessons and their infused readings with a virtual lab!
