Peer Mentors
(ASC Sanford/Lake Mary only)

Peer mentors are students whose sole responsibility is to mentor first-year college prep students to help them become academically and socially acclimated to college life.

Peer mentors are assigned to select courses each term. Peer mentors attend these select classes and can meet in the Center with students outside class time. During these meetings, peer mentors discuss any concerns the students may have and encourage them to become active, adjusted members of the college community.

To ensure overall academic success, peer mentors encourage their peers to take advantage of all of the College's available resources, such as free tutoring.

SCC's Title III Grant program is designed to assist College Prep students as they become acclimated with the college environment and acquainted with the rigors of achieving academic success.
