Dr. Carol Hawkins

Vice President, Educational Programs/Chief Learning Officer

Carol Hawkins, Vice President, Institutional Effectiveness, Planning, and Information ServicesDr. Carol Hawkins has served as the vice president for educational programs/chief learning officer for Seminole Community College since 2005. She is responsible for the design and delivery of academic programs, courses and services which anticipate and respond to student and community needs.  She provides leadership in the creation of an academically challenging and stimulating learning and working environment in which students, faculty and staff thrive by collaborating in support of students’ achieving their educational and career goals.

Dr. Hawkins earned her doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania; and Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees in English from the University of Florida. She taught English composition, literature, reading and study skills at the community college level for many years before migrating into community college administration. Prior to her current role, Dr. Hawkins served as vice president for institutional effectiveness at SCC, responsible for collegewide planning, information technology, institutional research, grants development and marketing endeavors.

Dr. Hawkins is also active in community and professional organizations, such as the Rotary Club of Seminole County South, the Seminole County Bar Association Legal Aid Society Board of Directors and the Transitional Living Advisory Board.
