Rep. Chris Dorworth Chairman, Seminole Community College District Board of Trustees Chris Dorworth was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush and later reappointed by Governor Charlie Crist to SCC's Board of Trustees for a term beginning June 1, 2006, and ending May 31, 2010. Chris is a member of the Florida House of Representatives, having been elected in a special election on November 6, 2007. He has served as vice-chairman of the Utilities & Telecommunications Committee, and as a member of the Jobs & Entrepreneurship (Regulated Industries) Council and State Affairs and Healthy Seniors Committees. Chris is a principal in several real estate investment companies, with prior experience in management roles for two Fortune 50 companies in the consumer product and medical device industries. A graduate of the University of Florida, he was the student body president, a member of the University of Florida Hall of Fame and was named the outstanding male leader graduate of his class. He has an MBA from Duke University. Chris has been actively involved in the community. He was the 2007 chairman of the Seminole Soil and Water Conservation District (elected countywide in 2006 with over 56 percent of the vote) and is a past vice-chairman of the Seminole County Planning and Zoning Commission. Chris is a former chairman of the Bush/Cheney reelection campaign for Seminole County and is a past president of the Seminole County Young Republicans. He currently sits on the board of directors for the Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Chris and his wife, Elizabeth, have two young children, Madison and Chris Jr. They are members of Orangewood Presbyterian Church in Maitland, Florida.
